GLA:D® Osteoarthritis Hip/Knee Exercise Class
GLA:D®, or Good Life with Arthritis: Denmark, is an education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms. Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common lifestyle disease in individuals 65 years of age and older, but can also affect individuals as young as 30 years of age. Current national and international clinical guidelines recommend patient education, exercise and weight loss as first line treatment for OA.

GLA:D® Australia training consists of:
- An initial appointment explaining the program and collecting data on your current functional ability
- Subsequent appointment as necessary to adapt exercises to your level and set appropriate goals
- Two education sessions which teach you about OA, how GLA:D Australia exercises improve joint stability, and how to retain this improved joint stability outside of the program
- 12x Group neuromuscular training sessions over six weeks to improve muscle control of the joint which leads to reduction in symptoms and improved quality of life.
- 3 month follow up appointment for re-assessment of outcome measures
How do I find out if this program is right for me?
- Book a GLAD® initial appointment, where the physiotherapist will ask you about your history and assess some movements before recommending if this program would be suitable for you.

- Tuesday 8am
- Wednesday 6:30pm
- Thursday 11am

- Monthly – day and time may vary depending on availability
Health Insurance Rebates
- On completion of your 6 week program, we will provide a statement of all attended appointments to give to your health insurance fund so you can claim rebates for the program.
- Codes 500 for initial consult and 505 for subsequent consults will be used.
- Please contact your health insurance fund for further information about your individuals rebates.
