Trish graduated from the School of Physiotherapy in 1992 and went on to study a Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy in 1998 and a Masters in Physiotherapy in 1999. Trish gained general hospital physiotherapy experience for 2 years and then transferred into private practice. Trish established Burnside Physiotherapy in 1999 as a part-time solo practitioner. The practice now offers a dedicated team of Physiotherapists and Remedial Therapists who are passionate about delivering the highest quality service.
Trish is qualified to perform dry needling, instruct Clinical Pilates and perform a range of return to work services including worksite visits and return to work programs. Her approach is holistic and thorough and extra time is taken to assess and treat the client addressing all of the possible contributing factors to the presentation. Trish relies on manual therapy, exercise therapy and patient education to achieve the best possible outcomes. Her aim is to empower the client with the knowledge and motivation to manage their musculoskeletal problem in the future. Trish also ensures that communication between all key parties is achieved so that the individual needs of each client are addressed.
Outside of work Trish loves being with her husband and 2 boys, exploring the outdoors and cooking.
Doris completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy in 1982. She is fortunate to have traveled extensively and gained wide physiotherapy experience here in Adelaide, Sydney and overseas. Doris has worked in the public and private health care systems and gained valuable experience in orthopaedic (pre- and post-op management), sports/injury preventions, neurological, pediatrics, maternity, lymphoedema and geriatrics.
Doris is skilled in the areas of massage, balance assessment and falls prevention. She is able to provide home visits, including assessments for falls prevention, and is trained as a Clinical Pilates instructor. Doris also volunteers for the Bone Health Foundation, for which she is an Ambassador, helping to educate and raise community awareness of the importance of skeletal health throughout our lives.
Amy completed her Bachelor in Physiotherapy at UniSA in 2014 and has returned to study her Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy part-time. She is passionate about ongoing learning and keeping up to date with the latest research in the musculoskeletal field. With years of coaching and playing hockey at a high level, among other sports, she has developed a keen understanding for the importance of technique, injury prevention and Physiotherapy for enhancing performance. She also has experience in running retraining and bike fitting.
Amy takes a caring and individualised approach where she aims to understand each client as a whole, including their lifestyle, needs and goals in order to build a management plan that targets all the contributing components. She knows how powerful it can be for clients to understand their pain/condition and regain control over it. So Amy uses a combination of education, hands on treatments and individualised exercise programs. Amy is also able to perform dry needling, including around the face and jaw.
Rachael trained with Evolve College, completing the Diploma Remedial Massage in 2017. She is able to provide myofascial and trigger point release, deep tissue massage, pre/post sport massage and general mobility maintenance. She is also trained in Myofascial Cupping and is a qualified personal trainer. Regular massage is fantastic for many people as a maintenance treatment to keep moving and pain free. Massages with Rachael are be claimable with your health fund. Many health funds have a separate amount set aside for remedial therapy so it is worth checking and using.
Kas has been working in the Reception area at Burnside Physiotherapy since 2007. In that time she has enjoyed being part of the community and getting to know clients while helping them with their administration needs. Kas is also very dedicated in supporting the Physios to keep the practice running smoothly at a high standard. She is married with three children and enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, entertaining and keeping fit. When time permits, she also loves getting away to Carrickalinga and walking the beach.
Jude has been working with Burnside Physiotherapy since 2016. She has had many years of experience in Physio admin and has really enjoyed the change to a smaller community practice. Jude is married with 2 adult children. She is passionate about her family and friends and particularly loves cooking for them and entertaining. When she isn't caring for others she enjoys getting outdoors and walking.
